Xi'an, referred to as "pickaxe", was called Chang'an and pickaxe capital in ancient times. Located in the middle of the Guanzhong Plain, it is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization and the Chinese nation, and the starting point of the Silk Road. In history, more than ten dynasties have established their capitals here. Fenghao Capital, Qin Afang Palace, Terra Cotta Warriors, Han Weiyang Palace, Changle Palace, etc. have all recorded and confirmed the ancient culture of Xi'an. These long history and culture are the important artistic source in the creation of Jinhui Dui. Jin Hui Dui was first recorded in the Yuan Dynasty, later developed in the Ming Dynasty, and flourished in the late Qing Dynasty. It can be traced back to the first generation of inheritors, Mr. Ma Ziyun from Shaanxi. In 1919, he studied gold and stone carving and Jin Hui Dui at Qingyun Hall in Liulichang, Beijing. Later, he served as a research curator at the Palace Museum and a member of the National Cultural Relics Appraisal Committee, passing down the second-generation Ru Xiaoshi and the third-generation Fengjing.
Jin Hui Dui, also known as the "Eight Broken Paintings", is one of the treasures of traditional Chinese art. It is ancient and intriguing, and some people call it the aesthetic value of "non books are better than books, non paintings are better than paintings". Its artistic themes are mostly fragments of ancient paintings and calligraphy, fragments of steles and bronze ware, etc. These themes truly record historical fragments, historical scenes, etc. at that time, and are also a true reflection of the cultural background at that time.
Jinhui Dui requires the inheritor to have a high level of artistic cultivation, and the painting process requires the author to organize the picture organically, with clever composition. They not only have superb rubbing skills, but also extraordinary aesthetic taste. At the same time, the four skills of calligraphy, painting, rubbing, and printing are indispensable. Book: True cursive script, seal script, and the ability to imitate various fonts and inscriptions. Painting: The author should be good at creating flower, bird, fish, insect, landscape, and figure paintings, and be able to copy ancient calligraphy and painting. Tuo: including flat Tuo and full form Tuo, familiar with various types of stele Tuo and bronze ware shapes, skilled in observation, and skilled in stacking. Seal: capable of engraving various seals.
The art of Jin Hui Dui cannot be separated from stele excavation, ancient calligraphy and painting, sculpture art, and so on. The ancient city of Xi'an is an important birthplace of these cultural and artistic forms, with 13 regimes including Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang establishing their capitals here, leaving behind countless precious cultural relics. These precious traditional cultural symbols are important artistic nutrients in the creation of Jin Hui Dui, providing a very good environment for the creation of Jin Hui Dui. Feng Jing re examined traditional cultural elements, carefully selecting and refining a Han brick, a window flower, and a tile in his hand. He took fragments and incorporated them into his paintings, covering, interweaving, and overlapping them, creating a reasonable composition and introducing new ideas.
Due to the difficulty and time-consuming nature of making the art of "Jin Hui Dui", as well as the scarcity of inheritors, this traditional technique has almost been lost. In order to better inherit and promote excellent traditional culture, Fengjing tirelessly seeks to innovate and integrate the intangible cultural heritage of Jinhui Dui with contemporary art, constantly exploring new art forms and allowing more people to recognize and touch the charm of Jinhui Dui culture. It is worth mentioning that Fengjing's "Jinhui Dui" silk cultural and creative design has been selected as the only intangible cultural heritage licensed product during the 14th National Games. Feng Jing, with the help of people from all walks of life, established the Xi'an Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Foundation, which specializes in protecting and teaching this skill. On this platform, he voluntarily explains and teaches the "Jin Hui Dui" culture and skill to more knowledgeable people, and has organized multiple personal exhibitions, joint exhibitions, etc. And volunteer professors at multiple universities have organized lectures, sharing sessions, and other activities for students interested in the art of "Jin Hui Dui". So far, many people have mastered this skill. He has made outstanding contributions to the inheritance, development, and promotion of this skill.
Art is immortal and not only passed down. On the path of inheriting and promoting the art of Jin Hui Dui, Feng Jing continuously contributes his own strength, such as combining external learning to cultivate more young Jin Hui Dui art creators. He also spares no effort to preserve the complete Jin Hui Dui painting skills and continuously improves the original appearance of Jin Hui Dui culture through research. In the next five years, it is planned to build a systematic Jin Hui Dui Museum to ensure that the artistic and historical value of Jin Hui Dui has its rightful place.
