The Kiss of the Garden - A New Look at Intangible Cultural Heritage

2023-06-28 From: Xi''an Silk Road Yuecheng Cultural Industry Co., Ltd

Feng Jing is currently a consultant for the Singapore Intangible Cultural Heritage Alliance, the sole inheritor of the Chinese intangible cultural heritage "Jin Hui Dui" painting technique, a member of the Shaanxi Artists Association, a researcher at the Shaanxi Charity Calligraphy and Painting Research Association, and an art consultant for the Shaanxi Cultural Investment Brand Marketing Center.

Antoni Gaudi (1852-1926) was the most internationally influential architect in Spain, with 17 of his works listed as national cultural relics and 7 listed as world cultural heritage sites.

Jin Hui Dui, also known as the "Eight Broken Paintings", is one of the treasures of traditional Chinese art, which depicts various fragments of cultural relics and stacks them into a whole picture. Jin Hui Dui originated in the Yuan Dynasty and flourished in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. It was highly favored by literati and became a special type of Chinese painting, with a history of over 800 years of vicissitudes.

Ms. Feng Jing, inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of Jinhui Dui in Shaanxi Province, and student Zhu Xueyao, coincidentally appreciated Gaudi's architectural works and discovered that Feng Jing and Gaudi share similar creative styles, preferences, and artistic styles. For example, Gaudi's architectural works "House of Vincennes" and "House of Wonders" both use the method of splicing stones and red bricks, and decorating colored tiles with veneers, which is similar to the form of "pasting" and "stacking" in Ms. Feng Jing's plaster pile works. Especially Gaudi's skillful use of "stained glass windows" gave great inspiration to crystal sealing. So the design of the work simulates the intention of a "window" and cleverly stacks it into a special "Jin Hui Dui" language.

The work combines the art form of overlapping, interlocking, and collage with the colors of Spanish painter Gaudi, creating a new collision between traditional painting and Western art.

Gaudi was passionate about using rich colors and extensively used bold and vibrant colors in his paintings, not only making buildings vivid, but also endowing them with personality and emotions.

Gaudi's works are a fusion of Art Nouveau and Gothic styles. He once said, 'Straight lines belong to humanity, curves belong to God.' Therefore, in my works, I extensively use arcs to divide the whole, and interweave the dynamic small pieces of the plaster pile with traditional painting as a medium for artistic presentation.

This time, Feng Jing collaborated with Guangzhou Cuipu Biological Zero Additive Skincare Products based on the inspiration of this work. With the concept of European organic plant extraction and the spirit of craftsmanship, thirteen products have been launched in 30 years. By observing the interaction between the whole and the parts, there is a color of glass, full of the metaphorical meaning of a myriad of colors, which is in line with the blooming of flowers like brocade, expressing the blooming atmosphere through abstraction and subtlety - the kiss of the garden.

For many years, Ms. Feng Jing, as a inheritor of intangible cultural heritage, has always adhered to the theme of "making intangible cultural heritage come alive", which has enabled intangible cultural and creative products to enter the homes of thousands of ordinary people.

The launch of the "Garden Kiss" series of products is a further cultural empowerment, showcasing the cultural value of intangible cultural heritage while guiding the new trend and direction of "paying for culture" and "paying for art". Promote the integration of intangible cultural heritage into modern life with a renewed appearance, more diverse ways, and a more charming posture.
